Product Information

All our self-cleaning filter products incorporate our unique and patented self-cleaning filtration system.

All our self-cleaning filter products use a unique system to keep their filter mesh clear. Due to a constant backwash the filter screen is kept clear of debris without interrupting the output flow of your filter or filterpump.  This is because all our self-cleaning filter products have a high volume low velocity intake. Consequently, a high velocity low volume backwash flow can keep the mesh clean. The constant backwash keeps the filter screen clear of debris without interrupting the output flow of your filter or filterpump.

We have two core product sets:

Submersible filterpumps with integral self-cleaning pump intake filters

Self-cleaning suction filters and strainers for use with dry mounted pumps

Submersible filterpumps with integral self-cleaning pump intake filtersSubmersible pumps with self-cleaning intakes mixed2

The first type of product is a submersible filterpump with integral self-cleaning intake filter. This means that as you pump water the pump intake is kept clear of debris that might otherwise block the mesh or the pump.

Our filterpumps are submersible and continuously rated. Furthermore, they all have their own built -in self-cleaning filter. The additional impeller on the pump motor shaft drives the filter mechanism. This allows the cleaning jets keep the filter mesh clear of any suspended solids, debris, etc to protect the pump and other equipment.

The filters on our pump inlets have a large open area and a low velocity intake. When these filterpumps fitted with 2 mm mesh they can comply with current regulations for Eel recovery.

It is not possible to retrofit these filters to most existing submersible pumps.  Therefore we have selected a variety of high quality pump models for our product ranges. First we redesign the pump drive shafts and pump ends. We then add additional impellers.  Finally we fit the filter mesh to produce a submersible pump with a self-cleaning suction intake.

Our submersible pumps range from 150 litres /minute up to 1800 litres /minute.  Filter mesh sizes are from 60 microns (on smaller submersibles) to 6 mm.

The second type of filtration product we offer are self-cleaning filters for use with surface mounted pumps.  These stainless steel filters are extremely tough and require little maintenance. They require infrequent pressure washing and the rubber nozzles on the jets may need replacement after 3 or 4 years.

A flow of filtered water back to the filter drives the self-cleaning filter jets.  The backwash water is delivered by taking a tee off the filtered output of your pump. This flow of water drives the backwash mechanism inside the filter cage. As a result the cleaning effect is the same as that of the submersible pump filters.  These filters have no power source other than your pump when it is in operation. Have a look at the ‘How it works’ document attached.

We offer self-cleaning filters from 30 litres /minute up to over 1000 m3 / hour, and mesh sizes from 60 microns (on smaller filters) to 6 mm.

We can also design and build self-cleaning intake strainers to suit your particular requirements

Please Note: Our filters are designed for use in dirty water or liquids with a viscosity close to that of water. Our filters and filterpumps are NOT suitable for use in raw sewage or any other dirty water which contains oils or fat.
