Self-cleaning Water Filters for Uninterrupted Pump Output

What are Self-cleaning Water Filters?

A Rotorflush Self-cleaning water filter is a water filter or strainer that attaches to the suction hose pipe of a surface mounted water pump.

They are used to screen or filter dirty water and incorporate a self-cleaning backwash which continuously cleans the filter mesh to keep the pump intake clear while protecting the pump from clogging from weeds, leaves and other debris.

Even in challenging water conditions, they will provide an uninterrupted supply of filtered output, protecting your pump and other downstream equipment from blockage.

Our self-cleaning water filters are a robust, long-lasting alternative to the traditional basket strainer. All but the smallest filters are made from stainless steel with industrial rubber cleaning jets and they last for many, many years. They are built with strength and quality in mind.

Pumps and strainers often operate in harsh conditions and treated unkindly. They are made to outlive your pump which makes them a welcome alternative to the traditional pump suction hose basket strainer.

Because nobody likes unblocking pumps and filters.

How do Self-cleaning Water Filters Work?

The water filter self-cleaning mechanism is driven by taking a tee off the filtered output of your pump to send a small flow back to the filter to drive the backwash mechanism inside the filter. The continuous backwash pushes away any particulate that might block the intake mesh. as long as the pump is running Rotorflush self-cleaning water filters will keep their filter mesh clear providing an uninterrupted supply of filtered water for your use.

Rotorflush Self-cleaning water filter are designed to be very simple; they have two connections – the filter output connection to a pump suction line, and a smaller backwash connection. They are designed to be powered by a small amount of pumped output, which means they do not need their own power supply.
