General Information Filter Pumps for Sampling

Our smaller filter pumps, Omnia, Flint and Idrogo Filterpumps™, are used widely in the water industry and beyond for raw and dirty water sampling for analysis. These are submersible centrifugal pumps with integral self-cleaning suction intakes that can screen and pump water simultaneously.

These pumps are preferred for raising sample water because they can screen down to 60 microns without blocking. Because water is filtered as it is pumped from source, analytical equipment is protected against clogging and blocking by any debris or particulate that may be in the sample water.

Here are some of the uses we have our sample pumps for:

  • screening and supplying sample veg and salad washing water for dosing systems
  • Protecting sampling equipment at raw water intakes
  • Screening and supplying final effluent for analysis at waste water treatment works
  • Ensuring low-maintenance continuous monitoring at remote and unmanned sample sites
Omnia Filterpump™ with float switch Stainless Steel mesh and stand

Rotorflush Omnia sample filter pump fitted with sintered stainless steel intake screen, built in float switch and small stand.

Sample filter pumps can be fitted with:

Nylon Mesh inserts

The filter mesh is made up of replaceable bias-cut nylon mesh offering a very clean filtration, ideal for sampling. The inserts are inexpensive and easy to replace.

Available in 60 micron, 115 micron or 300 micron.

316 Stainless Steel Sintered Mesh

A robust screen that can be easily cleaned with a pressure washer. Ideal for heat pumps and other application with small tolerances.

Available in 50 micron, 100 micron and 315 micron.

Due to their small size and portability, our sample pumps are very versatile and can be installed in a number of ways.

The key thing to remember is to make sure that they have a lot of clear space around the mesh for the back-washed debris to be dispersed into, and that they are not sitting in a build-up of silt or sludge.

Sample pumps can be suspended in water, hung from a float, or if the water conditions allow, placed in water on a stand.

We also manufacture stands and guide rails to help site your filter pump.

Although they are self-cleaning all of our products will require a manual clean every once in a while.

The nylon mesh inserts are easily replaced and stainless mesh can be cleaned with a pressure washer. How often depends on your mesh size and what you are filtering.

As a minimum we recommend the following:

  • Mesh up to 115 micron should be cleaned or replaced every 1000 hours of use
  • Mesh up to 315 micron should be cleaned or replaced every 5000 hours of use

Full maintenance guidelines can be found in the instruction manuals available from the download link above.

All our products are guaranteed for a year. Full details in our Terms and Conditions below.
